Now Small Business Saturday (Is it me, or are these the most boring "holiday" names ever?) is a day Ada can really get behind. So, we'll offer extended business hours (10am - 6pm, just like Friday!) and because shopping and walking and looking can really take its toll, we'll have some free snacks on hand in the form of apple cidar and apple cidar donuts from Powder Mill Creamery.
Ada isn't really into Black Friday, preferring instead to observe Buy Nothing Day or Eat Leftovers Day or Sleep All Day Day. However, in the spirit of season, Ada will embrace all orthodoxy and keep regular business hours the 29th (10am - 6pm). There won't be any doorbusting deals, I'm afraid, just the usual low-priced, carefully-collected books.

Jamaal May & LaTasha Nevada N. Diggs activate our language centers, while snacks and drinks infiltrate our digestive programs. It happens this Saturday (the 23rd), at 6pm, to be precise, and it costs nothing but some dedicated eartime and heartwarm applausing.
It's another installment of I Read Dead People! Wherein a group of friends, acquaintances, and strangers outloudly read a single book or story by a brilliant dead person. This time it's Reflections in a Golden Eye, by Carson McCullers. Everybody gets to read some pages. Or, you can just listen to others read. Laughing, shouting, gasping and giggling are all encouraged. Snacks and drinks will keep us company. So let's read together! This Wednesday, November the 13th, starting at 7pm.
Kate Greenstreet, Tamiko Beyer, & Deborah Poe read their poems outloudishly this FRIDAY, November the 8th, at 6pm. Special guests wine, cheese, etc will make their usual limited appearance.Entry is free, like America and cancer.
